Implant Dentistry, as a procedure (or constellation of procedures) has been employed since about 1950.

Historically, Dr. P-I Branemark, the originator and developer of the modern artificial root form implant procedure, and Nobel Biocare are responsible for much of the ongoing innovation within the field of tooth replacement science.

Implants represent the obviously clear and only choice of replacing the root of a tooth. Many patients choose to replace teeth on a one by one basis... for perhaps the most ideal procedure for picking up where Mother Nature left off.. when original tooth structures fail, for whatever reason.

CT Scans and Virtual Implant Dentistry

The magic of computers, bioengineering, clear digital imaging and the field of microelectronics have some implant doctors, along with Dr. Marinic, to provide implant surgery that is incredibly precise. Common errors are all but eliminated.

With the right technology and instrumentation, implant surgery is first performed by Dr. Marinic in a Virtual Surgery environment. CT Scans provide the clear images, models and digitized tissue (bone and periodontal) representations that enable our office to perform the surgery digitally... and to "know" the outcome before the patient even starts surgery.

Selection of implant devices (different types for different needs), types of restorations (single, fixed bridge, partial, denture, etc) are all determined before surgery even begins. There are essentially no surprises.
